Safety pillows (SRS)

On cars the auxiliary system of safety (SRS – Supplemental Restrain System) more known as safety pillows is established. The system consists of the gauges established from the forward party of the car, pillows of safety and the management and diagnostics block. On the car the system of pillows of safety of type HAE–3 is established. System HAE-3 can be established in various executions DAB 2BPT, DAB PAB 2BPT, DAB PAB 2BPT 2FSAB (DAB – a pillow of safety of the driver, PAB – a pillow of safety of the forward passenger, BPT – натяжитель a seat belt, FSAB – a lateral pillow of safety).

SRS consists from: the air chamber from outside the driver, located in the centre of a steering wheel and containing the curtailed pillow and the block gas generator; the air chamber from outside the forward passenger, located in the panel of devices and containing the curtailed pillow and the block gas generator; lateral air chambers located in backs of the driver and the forward passenger both containing the curtailed pillows and the block gas generator.

The block of management SRSCM is located on a car floor under a radiator of a heater and supervises system of pillows of safety and includes: акселерометр which defines car delay; the spiral wire (spring) located in a steering column; electric chains and sockets; the knee buffer located under a steering column. The spiral wire transmits a signal irrespective of steering wheel position.

The moment of collision defines block SRSCM on the basis of the information from акселерометра which constantly supervises car acceleration.

Deployment of a pillow of safety occurs at front or nearly so a head-on collision to the moderate or big effort.

Pyrotechnic газогенератор will transform an operating electric signal to a signal поджига therefore the powder decays, inflating a bag of a pillow of safety.

For service of pillows of safety or components SRS specially trained personnel should be supposed only. At service SRS it is necessary to show extreme care to avoid травмирования the personnel at unapproved expansion of pillows of safety of the driver or the forward passenger.

Safety measures

At infringement of sequence of switching-off or service of system of pillows of safety can occur unapproved expansion of pillows of safety and drawing of serious physical injuries. Also, not qualified service of system of pillows of safety can lead to that the pillow of safety will not work at collision.

Before service performance, including removal or installation of elements of system, carefully carry out following recommendations.

Before service of system of pillows of safety be convinced that has passed not less than 30 with the ambassador of deenergizing of ignition and a detachment of a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery. The system of pillows of safety is equipped by an emergency energy source which allows to develop pillows of safety in case of a detachment of wires from the storage battery at failure. Time during which the emergency energy source provides with energy system of pillows of safety, makes 150 мс. At a detachment of a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery memory of hours and sound systems is erased. Before the work beginning take the information from sound systems. After the termination of works establish time for hours and spend repeated installation of sound systems. Signs of failure of system of air cushions of safety are difficult for checking up, so diagnostic codes become the most important source of the information by search of malfunctions. By search of malfunctions of system of air cushions of safety before a detachment of the storage battery check up the codes of malfunctions brought in memory. Do not use spare parts of pillows of safety from other cars. Do not assort and do not repair elements of system of air cushions of safety. If any component SRS has fallen or on it there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, an arm or a socket, replace them with the new. After work execute check of system of air cushions of safety.
In certain cases the electric chain of a control lamp of pillows of safety can be broken other malfunction of a chain. Therefore, if the control lamp of pillows of safety constantly burns, check up that, all codes DTC are erased from memory. At carrying out of electrowelding works necessarily disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.

The module (DAB, РАВ, SAB)

Modules DAB (pillow of safety of the driver), РАВ (a pillow of safety of the forward passenger), DSAB (a lateral pillow of safety of the driver) and PSAB (a lateral pillow of safety of the passenger) consist of the device раскрывания and pillows. The device раскрывания (газогенератор) is located in a safety pillow. Store safety pillows at temperature no more 93С, absence of humidity and electric hindrances. At electric welding use before the work beginning disconnect sockets from a safety pillow.

Plait of wires SRS

Plait SRS is located in a tube of yellow colour which differs from plaits of wires of other systems. In sockets from outside DAB, PAB, DSAB, PSAB and BPT there are crosspieces which close electric chains at a detachment of sockets that prevents undesirable раскрывание safety pillows.

Control lamp SRSCM

The control lamp SRS located in a combination of devices, copes from block SRSCM.

At some malfunctions SRSCM cannot function and, thus, cannot operate work as a control lamp. In these cases the lamp is directly activated from a corresponding chain which works irrespective of SRSCM.

In the absence of pressure brought to SRSCM the lamp burns constantly. In the absence of internal working pressure the lamp burns constantly. If SRSCM it is not connected, the lamp joins through a crosspiece in a socket of a plait of wires.

Spiral spring

The spiral spring consists of two twisted coils. It is established between a steering column and a steering wheel and allows a steering wheel to rotate, constantly keeping contact of an electric chain of system of safety.

The steering wheel should be correctly established on a steering column with a spiral spring established in neutral position, rupture of a wire or other malfunctions differently is possible.

In the presence of any defects it is necessary to replace a safety pillow.

Do not try to measure resistance of an electric chain pyrotechnic gas generator a safety pillow, as probably unapproved expansion of a pillow of safety of the driver.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Check up a cover of a pillow of safety on absence of dents, cracks or deformation. Check up a safety pillow on absence of cave-in, splitting or deformation. Check up a condition of hooks and sockets on absence of damages, oxidations of contacts of a socket and damages of a plait of wires. Check up the case pyrotechnic gas generator safety pillows on absence of dents, cracks or deformation. Put a safety pillow to a steering wheel to check up its combination and suitability.
