In system Common Rail special atomizers with hydraulic strengthening and an electric element of start-up (the solenoidal valve) for maintenance of giving of the necessary quantity of fuel in the combustion chamber are used.

For maintenance of exact quantity of injected fuel atomizer opening should occur very quickly that demands giving ECU of a high voltage. After full opening of a needle of a spray the current brought to the solenoidal valve, decreases to size, sufficient for deduction of the solenoidal valve in open position. The quantity of injected fuel is defined by the period of opening of a spray and pressure in system. After a pressure stopping delivery to the solenoidal valve the spray needle falls downwards and tightly blocks fuel giving under a high pressure in the combustion chamber.

Functioning check


    Using current-measuring pincers of the device for engine check, check up functioning of fuel atomizers. Current-measuring pincers should correspond to following requirements:
      Range of measurements more than 25 And; Frequency range more than 100 кГц.
    Connect a socket to an atomizer. Establish current-measuring pincers round an atomizer head, start the engine in a mode of idling and measure a current consumed by an atomizer, and compare a curve of a current to a curve resulted in drawing.
  • The size of a phase of consumption of a current (a maximum 12) depends on frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine.
  • The first site of a curve shows preliminary injection of fuel.
    Check up an atomizer on fuel injection. Disconnect a socket from an atomizer and connect to an additional atomizer.
    If thus engine work has not changed, the checked atomizer does not inject fuel.
    If engine work has changed, means, the checked atomizer is serviceable and injects fuel.
    This check does not allow to establish quantity of fuel injected by an atomizer.
    If necessary replace all fuel atomizers. At the switched off ignition measure pressure of a food on contacts 33 (the cylinder №1), 36 and 39 (the cylinder №3), 40 (the cylinder №2) and 37 ECM. Pressure: 0 Century If pressure does not correspond demanded, check up an electroconducting condition. If electroconducting is serviceable, replace ECM.

Resistance measurement


    Disconnect from an atomizer an electric socket.
    Measure resistance between socket contacts. Resistance: 0,3–0,6 Ohm at temperature 20С.
    Connect to an atomizer an electric socket.
